Face Yourself Quizzing Glass | Dijun Sha

Shine & Shadow Collection 2021

CAD Modelling, 3D Printed Resin, 925 Silver Foil, Fluorescent UV Pigment, Colour Spray

Face Yourself

Originating from the historical quizzing glass, once a fashionable accessory used by gentlemen at formal balls to examine objects and individuals, this piece is reinterpreted as a contemporary lens through which to explore the relationship between body, identity, and space. As the starting point for the Shine & Shadow collection, it reflects on how contemporary jewellery can become an extension of perception, observation, and self-reflection.

The concept of shadow, often dismissed as negative or secondary, is reclaimed here as a source of form and meaning. Drawing on references from calligraphy and hand-written signage, shadow is positioned as a metaphor for the hidden self—companion, an alter ego, or a quiet emotional presence. Through this work, jewellery becomes a medium for narrative and introspection, inviting the wearer to engage with both light and shadow as integral parts of personal expression.

Journey | Dijun Sha

Installation (2D Printed Photography)

Trajectory Series Collection, 2025

CAD Modelling, Procreate

Journey emerges from a cross-disciplinary practice that moves fluidly between jewellery, installation, moving image, AR, and digital arts. Rooted in the Trajectory series, this installation translates themes of identity, perception, and subconscious decision-making into a visual language of motion and reflection. Photography, here, functions not as a record but as resonance — capturing ephemeral traces of choice, chance, and change. Through the interplay of digital modelling and intuitive mark-making, Journey becomes both artefact and environment, inviting viewers into a contemplative space where the inner and outer worlds converge.

What if the paths we didn’t take continue unfolding somewhere beyond perception? Informed by contemporary art, personal history, and speculative narrative, the installation blurs boundaries between media and meanings. Some forms are fluid, suggesting impermanence; others are structured, reflecting the tension between chaos and control. This synthesis of disciplines allows the work to shift with light and perspective, making each encounter unique. In this way, Journey offers not only a meditation on life’s trajectories, but also a reflection on how hybrid practices can capture the complexity of the self in motion.
